A Mercedes Atego 7.5 tonne truck provides loads of space to move large items.

It comes with a tail lift for lifting large, heavy items.

You can hire a 7.5 ton truck on a normal driving license if you passed your test before 1997 . Your driving license will show the C1 entitlement which covers vehicles from 3.5- 7.5-tonnes GVW. 

NB: To drive it professionally i.e. for commercial purposes, there are additional training requirements

Example 1: self-drive lorry hire to move home lorry driver hires a self-drive lorry to move home. As this is a private journey transporting their own belongings, they do not need:

  • an operator licence
  • Driver CPC

Drivers who passed their car driving test from 1 January 1997 will have to take a separate C1 test in order to drive any vehicle weighing in excess of 3.5 tonnes.

This means you can rent one of our vehicles but drop it off a different location. This is really useful if you need a car for just part of your journey.

One Way Rentals are available on UK mainland hires.
