If you follow us on social or stop by our website often, you’ll have heard all about our VW camper vans. New for this summer, they’re getting snapped up fast (so if you want to book a camper break, you’ll need to be quick: 0203 340 0460).

In a previous blog, we looked at types of camper van breaks from couple’s retreats to nomad work/travel. Today, we’re focusing on destinations – so you can start drawing up those travel plans and getting your bucket list in order. Here are a range of places we’d recommend for hiring a VW camper van.

  1. Devon & Cornwall

The Cornish coast is one of the most stunning locations in the UK, and a popular hotspot for tourists (think St. Ives, Newquay and Penzance). Not only is it home to some glorious stretches of British countryside, but you’ll also find quaint villages and pristine beaches nestled in its expansive views. And with sea, sun, surfing and sailing, you can have one big adventure. Best of all, there are tons of campsites in and around Cornwall.

As for Devon, holidaymakers don’t just flock there for its beaches – it has Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks right on its doorstep. Plus, Devon’s full of historic country homes, fascinating museums and brooding castles.

  1. The Isle of Wight

You might need a ferry to travel there, but it’s worth it – this self-contained island has all the activities you’ll need to keep the whole family busy throughout the holidays. From the grandiose of Osborne House to the tiny Godshill Model Village, and sightseeing opportunities like Carisbrooke Castle, Blackgang Chine amusement park and the island’s very own donkey sanctuary, all you need to do is decide where to park.

  1. The Peaks and the Lakes

The Peak District makes for one action-packed break, with opportunities to climb, cycle, hike and even explore ruins (Peveril Castle) and caves (Treak Cliff Cavern). Hop across to Dovedale with its iconic stepping stones, visit the historic village of Edale (a small parish complete with two camping sites) and wander a while by picturesque Ladybower Reservoir.

Around an hour and half’s drive away from the Peaks lies the Lakes, famous for Kendal mint cake and placid Lake Windermere. Visit Lowther Castle and gardens, explore The World of Beatrix Potter and scale Scafell Pike for some of the loveliest views around.
